The Clagett is well aware that buying and campaigning a boat can be an inhibiting factor for a sailor to progress towards their dream of “Reaching for Success”.
In June of 2015, The C. Thomas Clagett, Jr. Memorial Clinic and Regatta launched The Clagett Boat Grant Program initiative. Applications are being accepted for consideration.
First considerations will be given to sailors with adaptive needs who are relatively new to competitive sailing.
The purpose of this program is to expand the number of opportunities for sailors with adaptive needs to better their sailing skills in two of the three Paralympic class boats; The Sonar, and the 2.4mR.
The Boat Grant Program will be offered to a qualified North American sailor or team with adaptive needs, through a stringent selection process and will provide an adaptive race ready boat, trailer, insurance, and limited traveling expenses to a qualified sailor or team.
