A hoyer lift is a tool used by some sailing clubs to transfer individuals in wheelchairs from the dock to their position on the sailboat. Usually, hoyer lifts require an installed base, batteries, and a crew of trained volunteers to operate the lift and transfer the individual.
It should be noted that different clubs require different types of anchors for the hoyer lift. Anchors specifically made for wood decking are available, as well as anchors for concrete. The right anchor for your program will depend on the material to which you are afixing the anchor. Anchor options can be found under the product page for the EZ Power Pool Lift, linked below.
When not in use the hoyer lift itself can be lifted from the anchor, and stored seperately. A cap can then be placed over the anchor and it becomes minimally noticable.
Additionally, it is important to identify whether the sailor will be bringing their own sling, or if the sling will need to be provided. To view
